7th July 24 – Plantation Drive : A Joint Effort by Saving Dreamz Foundation, Nagpur Book Club, Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society and NCSFE College

On Sunday an inspiring plantation drive was organized by Saving Dreamz Foundation, Nagpur Book Club, Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society in collaboration with NCSFE College. This joint initiative focused on enhancing our green cover and fostering environmental consciousness among the community.

*Event Highlights:*
- *Venue:* NCSFE Campus, Bailwada, Nagpur
- *Participants:* Volunteers from Saving Dreamz Foundation, Nagpur Book Club, Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society and staff of NCSFE College.

*Saplings and Seeds Planted:*

1. *Saplings:*
- **Mango (Mangifera indica):** 13 saplings
Mango is the State tree of Maharashtra. This is in support of Project "*Our State Symbols"* by Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society. This initiative aims to raise awareness about our state symbols, as many citizens are not familiar with them.
- *Karanj (Pongamia pinnata):* 5 saplings
- *Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis):* 2 saplings
- *Mogra (Jasminum sambac):* 1 saplings

2. *Seeds:*
- *Bitter Gourd (Momordica charantia)*
- *Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)*

*Objectives and Impact:*

- *Biodiversity Enhancement:* The diverse selection of saplings and seeds contributes to increasing local biodiversity, which supports various species of birds, insects and other wildlife.
- *Environmental Education:* The event served as a practical lesson in environmental stewardship for students and volunteers, emphasizing the importance of planting and nurturing trees.
- *Community Engagement:* By involving various organizations, the drive strengthened community bonds and encouraged collective efforts toward environmental sustainability.

*Volunteer Activities:*
- *Planting:* Volunteers participated in digging, planting, and watering the saplings, ensuring they were securely planted and had adequate space to grow.
- *Follow-Up Plans:* Regular follow-up visits are planned to monitor the growth of the saplings and seeds, ensuring they thrive and contribute to the ecosystem.
