Saving Dreamz Foundation, in association with Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society (IBCS), celebrated World Wetlands Day with a Drawing Competition to spread awareness about the significance of wetlands in our ecosystem.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 40 children, who used their creativity to depict the beauty and importance of wetlands through their drawings. Before the competition, children were educated about:

Why Wetlands Matter – Wetlands act as nature’s kidneys, filtering pollutants, replenishing groundwater and providing habitat for diverse species.

Why World Wetlands Day is Celebrated – Observed annually on February 2nd, this day marks the adoption of the Ramsar Convention, which aims to protect wetlands worldwide.

How We Can Protect Wetlands – By reducing pollution, conserving water and supporting local wetland conservation efforts.

It was heartwarming to see the young minds express their understanding of wetlands through colors and creativity. Such initiatives not only foster artistic skills but also instill environmental consciousness at an early age.

A big thank you to all the participants and volunteers for making this event a success! Let’s continue to raise awareness and take action for our wetlands.
