The art of letter writing, once an integral part of communication, is now making a comeback, reminding us of its emotional and cultural significance. Saving Dreamz Foundation in association with GPO Nagpur, successfully conducted the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition 2024 across various schools, bringing the joy of writing back to young minds.
The Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition is an annual initiative by the Department of Posts, encouraging Indian citizens to express their thoughts through letters. The theme for 2024 was "The Joy of Writing: Importance of Letters in a Digital Age." This theme aimed to highlight how handwritten letters hold deep emotional value, even in an era dominated by instant messaging and emails.
Saving Dreamz Foundation conducted this competition across multiple schools in Nagpur, engaging around 1000 children in the process. The enthusiasm and dedication of students were truly inspiring, as they beautifully penned their thoughts on inland letters, reflecting on the relevance of letter writing in today’s digital world.
This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of: - School Management & Teachers – Their encouragement and coordination ensured the smooth execution of the competition. - Students – Their participation and heartfelt expressions through letters made this initiative a success. - GPO Nagpur – For collaborating with us and providing a wonderful platform to revive the lost art of letter writing.
Inland letters and postcards carry a personal touch that digital messages often lack. Writing letters: - Strengthens emotional bonds. - Enhances language and writing skills. - Encourages patience and mindfulness. - Preserves history and personal memories.
At Saving Dreamz Foundation, we believe in nurturing meaningful skills among children and this competition was a step towards reconnecting them with the charm of handwritten communication.
We look forward to organizing more such initiatives that inspire, educate and empower young minds!
