In a proactive move to support the holistic development of athletes, especially those aged 12 years and above, the District Sports Office, Nagpur organized a “Parent-Coach-Athlete Counseling and Interaction Session.” The aim was to offer professional guidance and create a better understanding among athletes, their parents and coaches about physical fitness, mental well-being and nutritional awareness — all essential elements in an athlete’s journey.
The session saw the participation of over 25 Rope Skipping athletes, along with their coaches and parents, actively engaging and learning from the esteemed panel of experts: - Dr. Kevin Agrawal, renowned Physiotherapist, highlighted the importance of injury prevention, proper recovery and body mechanics in training. - Dr. Sonal Kolte, a certified Dietician, shared insights into balanced diets, hydration and performance-enhancing nutrition tailored to growing athletes. - Dr. Vinisha Nitanware, Assistant Professor, Ramdeobaba College, shed light on psychological aspects of sports and ways to maintain focus, motivation and emotional balance. - Mr. Gaurav Joshi, Sports Officer, Nagpur, addressed the gathering with practical suggestions for optimizing training programs and building a strong support system around young athletes with the help of Yoga.
This initiative served as a significant platform for open dialogue and direct interaction between professionals and the grassroots-level sports community. The collaborative discussions helped address concerns, bust myths and reinforced the importance of parental and coaching involvement in an athlete’s success.
Such sessions reflect the District Sports Office’s commitment to creating a supportive, educated and aware sports ecosystem in Nagpur. The participation of Rope Skipping athletes along with other sports athletes in large numbers added great energy to the event and showcased the growing interest and dedication in alternative sports disciplines as well.
